Studio Air Filters Will Improve Your Recording Space

Air filters meet their reputation. They clean your air. They don’t just keep dust and pollen away; they are also tasked with keeping larger particles out of your breathable air. Dirty, unchanged filters are a leading cause of issues with your air quality, especially in your recording space. An affordable air filtration system will add to your confidence.

Recording sessions are greatly improved with an air filter to clean the breathable space in my booth. Entering my recording space for a session is much more comfortable after the filter has been running for a few hours. I do not feel like my throat is dry and don't cough with the help of my germ guardian. I often play roles that require lots of energy and take long stretches of recording time. My air filter ensures that I am able to sustain sessions with the help of lots of water. The air I breathe is not dusty, moldy, or filled with allergens. It is fresh and clean each time I sit in the peaceful silence of my booth. The off-gassing of the acoustic foam on my booths' walls is sucked up by the oater filter contained in my germ guardian. I do not cringe any longer at the cloying plastic smell of the foam; my germ guardian keeps the air neutral. The small space no longer traps smells of food or stuffy foam.

Not changing your air filter every three months means dust, mold, and other particles are infiltrating your air and reducing your studio's air quality. Clogged filters use electricity but do nothing to combat the stale air that can form over as short a time as a week. Your recording space may not get the airflow it needs, reducing your comfort level. I find that my utility bill does not take a hit from my Germ Guardian running in the studio; it uses very little energy. I replace the HEPA filters every quarter and have the comfort of knowing that my air will be fresh and clean.

The Germ Guardian FLT4825 True HEPA GENUINE Replacement Filter B is a combination filter. It includes a True HEPA filter that captures 99.97 percent of allergens as small as .3 microns. Carbon Activated Pre-Filter

A Carbon Activated Pre-Filter can help with reducing larger particles in your air. This filter can be replaced monthly and may extend the life of your HEPA air filter to four months or longer. The carbon pre-filter will get clogged first and is inexpensive. This can be pulled off the HEPA air filter and easily replaced. Extending your HEPA filter will save money and keep those particles out of your studio. This pre-filter is not required to have clean air but is extremely useful when applied as a first line of defense in a stuffy space with poor air quality. I’ve used it myself with repeated success.

Poor Air Quality

Poor air quality is a barrier voice over artists working from home often face. Some have recording spaces in their basements where mold and mildew can often build over time. An air filtration system can help no matter what your recording setup is and where you are working from. Think about putting some extra money into this long-term affordable investment and keep your lungs healthy. After all, our vocal chords and lungs are our bread and butter and must be taken care of to the best of our abilities.

Happy recording!
